Ciao I'm Daniela, the designer and maker of BivioLab traveler's notebook covers and inserts, sketchbooks, planners, journals, handbags and accessories.
I'm always looking to make very unique and unconventional products and love experimenting techniques and materials giving people the chance to express themselves, finding their uniqueness through my design.
This is why at BivioLab.etsy.com You'll find different sought styles 100% customizable.
Your traveler's notebook covers can be hand-made from the best Italian leather, from vegan materials or colorful fabric like felt, with size, texture and color personalised to your choice.
The leather traveler's notebook covers are hand-made from full grain first quality saddle leather, custom made with quotes, name and design hand painted with indelible inks for leather. It is Italian leather natural tanned with ancient techniques and keeps all the signs experienced to the animal in his life, darking and becoming more and more beautiful with the use.
For the vegan journals I selected a very out-of-the-ordinary eco-friendly plastic, usually used for industrial flooring and scenographic installations. It is made under CEE rules from an Italian company with no-toxic and recycled substances.
These exclusive traveler's notebook covers are flexible and very long lasting, available both in slick, glitter, gloss and pleasently embossed textures in several colors. Bringing materials born for different employments to new contexts is simply amazing!
This material is so inspiring to me!
At the beginnings I was making bags and women's accessories from it. My innovative collections won the partecipation at the Camden Lock Market in London (2013), the European edition of Maker Faire Rome (2014), the 79th edition of the International Crafts Exhibition in Florence (2015), Naples Christmas Markets (2016) and were published on the online Vogue Accessory journal (2014).
In those days I opened my little window to the world through Etsy, of which I had first heard when I was in London and only since the end of 2017 I started taking care of my shop full time.
One day I was googling to purchase a functional agenda to take all about my work well organized, when I discovered the Midori traveler's notebook system.
The idea to take my sketches, notes, daily and weekly planners, orders tracker, monthly schedule, online passwords tracker and all my journey , in easy to browse separate inserts, but all organized in the same place, drove me crazy!
The same day I took a piece of my yellow dot embossed beloved plastic and made my first A5 traveler's notebook cover, added one black tab closure useful to hold my pen, some page markers and that's!
Designed my inserts, printed them and set up my new traveler's notebook.
Midori style traveler's notebooks have been a lightning strike and never stopped making them since there.
I'm this way, just a little volcanic, so without warning erupted ideas and it's hard to keep me off!
Maybe it depends on I live to the foot of a Volcan, in a town in the southern of Italy that overlooks the Mediterranean. I love the sea! I love its smell, the sound of waves crashing on the rocks...I really can not leave more than few days away from the sea!
BivioLab is my my little yard of creativity where experimenting new techniques and materials give me the joy and enthusiasm to satisfy my curiosity.
I breathed creativity since childhood: my father worked plants coral till turn them into beads for necklaces and jewelry ; his sisters were excellent embroiderers , very skilled with crochet and knittings . My grandfather also was a creative person, he built televisions and stereo speakers always looking for perfect acoustics.
Nothing is about mine.
My great love for handicraft and the obsession for experimenting is a little piece of each of them that every day comes out on his own.
I worked at my father's enterprise for 14 years as high jewelry designer and maker after graduating until I was intrigued by new materials and began to experiment with new techniques : wood sculpture , carving candles , ceramics modeling, painting, iconography, needlework.
They say I was born an artist, but I can say that I was just born curious...
Being the only one person behind BivioLab gives me the chance to learn new things every day.
I take care of photo shooting and post-production, of publish listings, advertise them on social networks, process your orders and make your traveler's notebook covers and inserts, journals, sketchbookd, planners, bags and accessories ready to ship in very short times, pack them and send directly to your door waiting for your best review!
Reviews are the only way I have to know your're happy after all this work, that could not be possible without a great passion and commitment !
Money is not the only thing for an artist ;)
Happy all and enjoy life
